Some thoughts from Fo from AJ’s bedside

I couldn’t quite summon the strength to write a blog post – it has been quite the week what with one thing and another.

So Fo has allowed me to post some her thoughts and musings from AJ’s bedside.

Thoughts from the hospital – in no particular order.

1. The view from the window remains dull

2. Hospital stays are 💯 better since the invention of I-pads

3. Costa coffees are expensive

4. The shops don’t sell cigarettes

5. It’s brilliant when friends come to visit

6. Play therapists don’t offer to play with your child

7. Most of the owners of therapy dogs get more pleasure than the patients.

8. Nurses are blooming amazing.

9. I know most of the staff here pretty well now, but that’s just because I’m nosey!

10. The cold tap in the ward kitchen is hot water.

11. The hot tap is also hot.

12. If you want a drink of water on the ward, you need to enjoy hot water.

Can you tell I’m bored? Which can only be a good thing because Ava-Jane is feeling a lot better.

More musings from Ward 3.

1. Smoothies are my friend, but spicy NicNaks are my guilty secret

2. I still call Jimmy’s Cafe “Jimmy’s” even though he should have been castrated at birth. (We were inpatients the week he died and there was a massive book of condolences, even though all the staff were talking about what a wrong’un he was)

3. It’s a bonus having family in Oz during the witching hours

4. I really miss my wonderful friend Ali, who would always pop in when we were here  💔

5. The play therapist got a lesson in how to help kids & their parents 😬

6. I don’t think the play therapists like me very much

7. Good old fashioned camp beds are much more comfortable than the posh new chair beds

8. Ava-Jane’s feeding pump works better if I attach it to her button properly (wet, sticky girl & chair & floor 🙊)

9. Cutlery is like unicorn poo

10. The cold water is still hot

Luke here: just wanted to say how happy I was with the Green Party beating Refuk in the recent by-election.
